This had to be one of the hardest supper clubs to host, not because of the food but because of the diners. My sister in law who normally helps me host and plate up was sitting as a guest on this occasion as well as my brother and their friends. I was nervous but I knew if I could impress her and her friends I was on my way to becoming a great cook and host. It was a pleasure hosting for a group of foodies who eat in the best of places! It was a great opportunity to show them what my flavours and supper clubs are all about…..
Something different had to be done, a Pan Asian tasting menu. Bringing together a menu that brought some surprising flavour twists over a number of mini courses was one of my main aims this year and I think I conquered it!
To start I served…..
Asian meatball with a soy and mirin rice wine sauce
Paneer and edamame crunch chaat bowl
Lemongrass infused pani puri shots
One of my speciality dishes, the famous Pani Puri with a pan Asian twist and the flavours are mouth watering….
Oriental chilli veg and prawn sago baskets
Sweet & spicy garlic lamb chops
Mains
Egg & cashew fried rice bowls
Sizzling Chicken in Black & Chilli Bean Sauce with Spring Onions
Sea spiced aubergines
Flakey White Fish with an Asian zesty & zingy marinade served on a bed of fennel
Pak Choi
Desserts:
Chilli chocolate brownie served with a green tea & vanilla cream
It was a pleasure hosting for this group of foodies….It was a night of good food and good fun. The NEW tasting menu went down a treat….
